Terms of use
Last updated 23 October 2026
The short version
- Shifty is free, and offered as it is.
- It's there to help, but your official rota is always the one that counts.
- Your data stays yours, and you can leave whenever you like.
Shifty is a small side project. These terms are kept short and in plain words.
Using Shifty
Shifty is free. Using it means you agree to these terms, and if you'd rather not, that's completely fine.
Who can use it
You need to be 16 or over to use Shifty.
Double-check what matters
Shifty helps you keep track of your shifts, but it isn't an official record. Please check your employer's rota, especially for shifts Shifty found in your email.
Reminders are there to help too, but phones can delay or block notifications, so please don't rely on them alone for anything important.
No guarantees
Care goes into Shifty, but it can't be promised to always be perfect or available. It might have the odd mistake, change over time, or stop one day. Keeping your own note of anything important is always a good idea.
As far as the law allows, Shifty can't be held responsible if something goes wrong because of it, like a missed shift, wrong information or lost data.
Your account
- Keep the email or account you sign in with safe, since that's your way in.
- Please use Shifty for what it's for, and don't try to get into other people's data or disrupt it.
- You can delete your account from the app at any time. An account that's being misused may be paused or removed, and an account unused for a year is deleted after an email warning.
Your data
What you add to Shifty is yours. The privacy page explains what's kept and how to remove it.
The law that applies
These terms follow the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere, you keep any rights your local law gives you.
If this changes
These terms may be updated as Shifty grows. The date at the top always shows the latest version, and continuing to use Shifty after a change means you're happy with it.
